Jean Louise Rapley age 90 years of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan and formerly of Climax, Saskatchewan passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016 at the Shaunavon Hospital & Care Centre in Shaunavon. Jean was born June 5, 1926 on the homestead at SW 34-06-18-3, near Shaunavon, she attended Mule Creek School. In the spring of 1943 she moved to Climax to work in the café. It was there she met Ray Rapley and they were married in December, 1943. Jean’s passion in life was her family, singing, flower gardening, curling, quilting and playing cards (whist). She was a charter member of the LOBA, a member of Climax United Church, and a member of the Climax Seniors Centre. She was predeceased by her husband, Ray Rapley in 2006, her son Ted in 1995, her parents Vernon and Clara (Anderson) Hanna, five brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her daughter Jeannette (Frank) Sauntry, grandson Victor; her son Bob (Pat) Rapley, granddaughter Pam, great grandchildren Sloan, Ethan and Emily; daughter Patricia Rapley; and Ted’s family, grandson Tobias (Corrinna), great grandchildren Theodore, Caleigh and Adalind, granddaughter Reta (Donald) and great grandsons Dmitry, Cyrano, Lucien and Isidrio, and granddaughter Cora (Denny) and great grandchildren Alyvia, Declan and Keaton; her special sons Bryan (Doris) Bennett and Kim (Val) Bennett and their families; her brother David (Carol) Hanna, her sister Ruth Jurgenson, sisters-in-law Jean Hanna, Pauline Rapley, Shirley Hibbard, and Betty Koch. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Climax United Church in Climax with Minister Shelby Kinrade officiating. Barry Dixon presented the eulogy and soloist Bernadette Schneider and organist Dee Dean performed a hymn Jean had written. Interment took place at Climax Cemetery at Climax. Pallbearers were Victor Sauntry, Clinton Rapley, George Rapley, Trevor Hanna, Kevin Hanna and Arthur Facette.
