Robert Boyd Coleridge, age 88, of Trinity, passed away peacefully at Bonavista College Hospital on July 19th, 2016. Predeceased by sister, Nellie. Leaving to mourn his wife of 52 years, Rosalind; son Eric (Karen Huys) and grandson, Benjamin; sister, Bessie Foy of Lower Sackville, NS; nieces, nephews; brother-in-law, Roy Janes (Genny); sisters-in-law, Elsie Dewling and Viola King and a large circle of friends and neighbours. Rested at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Trinity from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Eric Squires, took place on Saturday, July 23, 2016 with interment following. Boyd learned heritage carpentry from his grandfather, George Henry Christian and taught window and door making to his son Eric. They worked together in the woods, logging, in the sawmill and workshop. Boyd plied many a trade in his lifetime including boat building, farming vegetables and serving as a local undertaker when the need arose. Boyd had a profound knowledge of the history of Trinity. He always waved at passers-by and had time to share a story with tourists visiting the mill yard.
