Marilyn Marcon, Age 74, of Sydney and Dartmouth passed away on, August 12, 2016 at Oceanview Manor. Marilyn was born in Sydney on, April 14, 1942 and was the daughter of the late William & Mary DiSano.
She is survived by her daughter, Dana Marcon (Francis Lefort) and grandson Patrick; son, Paulo Marcon Abbotsford BC , and granddaughter, Jordyn Hughes. She is also survived by sisters, Anne Marie (Tony Celi), Hamilton Ont, Lucy (Brendan Nardini deceased), Sydney NS, Theresa (Eddie Morrison), Ormocto NB and many nieces and nephews. Always a hard worker, Marilyn cared for her family both immediate and extended. She was known for her compassion for others, a strong work ethic and her flare for style. She spent many years volunteering/working for the Girl Guides of Canada and The Association for Social Workers. She loved travelling and using her artistic ability for all to enjoy and treasured the time spent with her children and grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be held at St Peters Roman Catholic Church, Dartmouth on, Friday, August 19 at 10 a.m., Father Jim Richards officiating. Burial will be at a later date. The family would like thank the staff of Oceanview Manor for their loving support and care of Marilyn over the past two years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
