It is with sadness that we announce the death of our dear sister and aunt, Loranna (Morris) Chisholm, on August 13, 2016, at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Loranna was born in Colindale on, April 19, 1923, the eldest daughter of Florence (MacDonald) and Patrick Morris. Loranna taught elementary school in Nova Scotia and in Dearborn, Michigan. She was a member of the CWL in St. Peter's Parish, Port Hood for 48 years. She was a woman of great faith and a leader in faith groups. She was dearly loved by her many nieces and nephews. Loranna enjoyed playing auction, especially when she was on the winning side. She is survived by her brothers, Father Eugene Morris of Bishop Falls, Newfoundland, Father Angus Morris of Harbourview and Joseph Morris (Mary MacLellan), of Port Hood and sisters, Catherine Morris, CND of Sydney, Mary Morris, CND of Halifax and Teresa vanZutphen (John), of Port Hood. She is also survived by Godchildren, Gerard Morris, Harvey vanZutphen, Roderick Morris, Stephen Beaton and Vera Cole. Loranna was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Bill Chisholm; her brothers, Alexander and Hugh Morris and sisters-in-law, Catherine (Burke) Morris and Terry (English) Morris. The family is grateful to the staff of Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home for the care Loranna received over the past few years. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at The Port Hood Resting Place on Tuesday, August 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, with Father Eugene and Father Angus officiating, will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, at St. Peter's Parish, Port Hood.
