September 2, 1923 – August 16, 2016
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander, on Tuesday August 16, 2016 at 92 years of age. Predeceased by her husband Vey and daughter Marie Evans. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are her children Ewen (Monica) and Cynthia (Lorne Barbour); son-in-law Stan Evans; grandchildren Susan Evans (Norbert Cheeseman), Linda Durnford (Brian), Steve Evans (Janice), Jill Eisan (Chris), Ric Newhook (Brittany), Meghan Newhook (David Watton), Dano Soucy, Terry Soucy (Kristen) and Erica Soucy (Ryan Coady); great-grandchildren Rebecca Rowe, Ireland Evans Mudge, Miles and Michael Eisan and Derek and James Newhook. Also left to mourn sister-in-law Daphne Newhook and many cherished relatives and friends. Beatrice was born, raised and married in Newtown, Bonavista Bay and lived most of her life in Millertown where she was a dedicated volunteer and community leader who had a smile for everyone. An accomplished organist, she played for the United and Anglican Churches in Millertown for over 50 years, taught Sunday School and was active in many other ways. She spent the last six years living in Gander at Nightingale Manor and her family would like to thank the staff there and at Lakeside Home for taking such great care of her. Resting at the Millertown Community Church on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 2-8pm. Funeral service to take place at the Millertown Community Church on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 11 am with interment to follow at the Millertown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Millertown United Church. The imprint Beatrice left on our hearts will be treasured forever.
