New Glasgow: Carl MacLaren, age 86 of High-Crest Home, Forbes St., New Glasgow passed away on Friday, Aug. 19, 2016 at High-Crest Home.
Carl spent his early years in Lochaber, Antigonish County before moving to Granville Street, New Glasgow and later High-Crest Home, Forbes Street.
Carl was a gentle soul and a friend to everyone, always sharing a kind word or a wave to those passing by.
Carl attended First Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow.
Carl was a guest at High–Crest Home for the past 27 years; special thanks to the staff for their care, special attention and friendship shown to Carl over the years.
Surviving are: Eunice Wood; John and Barbara Wood and family; friends and staff at High-Crest Home.
Carl was predeceased by special friends Myrtle MacDonald and Jean Wood.
His remains will rest in the H.W.Angus Funeral Home for visitation from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
Burial will be in the North Lochaber Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Carl may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
