With heavy hearts we, the family, announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, age 92, Veronica 'Gue' Rigby on August 21, 2016.
She was born in New Waterford, daughter of the late James and Veronica (MacPherson) Gardiner. She was a homemaker, family was her life, religion was her core, she had a dry sense of humor and you did not know to whether to laugh or run. She is survived by her son, Jack (Jeanette); daughter, Mary Ann; sister, Theresa Moore, Halifax; son-in-law, Wilfred Hurley Jr.; sisters-in-law, Ann Gardiner, Vina Black, Lina Perfect; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Vincent "Red" Rigby; brothers, James and Malcolm; sisters, Martha, Annie, Eileen, Olive, Mary and Rodena. Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass to celebrate Veronica's life will take place on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Leonard, Mount Carmel Ave., with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Army, Navy and Airforce, Smith St., all are welcome.
