A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30PM on Thursday, September 1st, 2016, at the Squamish Funeral Chapel. Chris was born on July 29th, 1955, in Vancouver B.C. He grew up in North Vancouver as the eldest of three children. At age 17, he moved to Squamish and began working on tug boats under the mentorship of his step father, Bert Larson. Chris purchased property in Cheekeye, Squamish, and enjoyed many years there. He married his first wife Susan Greenwood and had two children, Trevor and Sarah. He loved nature, marine life, and creating things (from houses to totem poles). Chris was a charismatic leader and a visionary. Chris had deep roots in the Squamish community, a familiar face to all on the waterfront and a member of the Squamish Harbour Authority. He had a lifetime working in the marine industry in Squamish. Chris met his beloved wife, Christine, in 2004. They recently moved to a rural property on Hornby Island where he continued to work and enjoy life. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Christine, his son Trevor, his daughter Sarah, his sister Carol, his brother Stephen, his nephew Stuart, his stepsiblings Laird and Leah, his stepson Arlen and other extended family.
