The death occurred at the Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home, Charlottetown, on Monday, August 29, 2016, of Lois Chappell (nee McDowell), beloved wife of Bill Chappell, formerly of Breadalbane, aged 78. Lois was the loving mother of Carlyle (Trish), Merle (Corinne), Ruth Barfoot (Colin), Cheryl Scantlebury (Shane) and Les (Jess); grandmother of Kimberly (Steve), Andrew (Bethany), Richard (Valerie), Meghan (J.L.), Kala, Christine (Ian), Harrison, Evangeline, Lesley (Cass) and Will; and great-grandmother of Caleb, Felix and Olivia. She is also survived by her stepbrothers, Gordon, Barry and Stacey MacInnis; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wendell and Joyce MacKenzie, Earl and Melba Chappell and Ray and Joyce Chappell; and several nieces and nephews. Lois was predeceased by her parents, Leslie and Ruth (Stevenson) McDowell; brother, David; stepmother, Celia McDowell; father and mother-in-law, Earl and Nellie; and her sister-in-law, Wanda Sanderson (Sydney). Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Thursday, September 1, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. The funeral will be held following the visitation, in the Funeral Home Chapel, at 11 a.m. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley.
