Tom Hollett
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Tom Hollett on Saturday, August 27, 2016 as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident on the Burin Peninsula. He was on his way to attend a fund-raising ride for autism, a cause that he took up that was dear to him.
He was 60 years old. Tom was a dreamer, creator and a believer in people and it showed. His love of his family, both his children and the taxi industry knew no bounds. He often talked of the people of the Burin Peninsula as his extended family and that truly showed in his interest in his ongoing projects that has made the community what it is today.
Leaving to mourn with precious memories are his son Chris Hollett of St. Johns and daughter Cheyenne of Burin. He also leaves behind a very large circle of friends within the taxi industry, his motorcycle friends and a large circle of extended family and friends in his home of Burin and other areas of the province.
Tom was predeceased by his father, Keith and mother Peggy Hollett, as well as mother of Chris, Jackie Hollett.
In his memory flowers gratefully accepted or by donation to the Oldest Colony Trust Company who are responsible for the ongoing work of the restoration and preservation work underway in Burin.
