Donald Hartery

Date de décès : 7 septembre 2016

On September 7, 2016, the Heavens opened up to receive a very brave man. Donald Joseph Hartery, at age 83, died peacefully with his family and partner of 18 years, Ann F. Smith, by his side. He said, "Do not cry for me, I don't want anyone to be sad. I'm just sorry that I'm not able to stay and take care of Donna and Ann." Loving father of Donna (Richard Paul), step-father of Steve, and cherished Papa of Serena and Tyler. Dear brother of Mike (late Marion), Ronnie (Athena), and brother-in-law of Cherie. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Donald is predeceased by: his wife Eleanor, step-children David, Bruce, and Linda, siblings Isabel (late Jack), Lorraine (late Joe), Raymond, and Patsy (late Ron). We would like to express our sincere appreciation for all your warmth, support and awesomeness shown to us during this courageous battle with Cancer. Also, we would like to thank The Palliative Care Unit staff at the William Osler Health Centre, Etobicoke, for all they do, and the Staff at Humbervale Place, where he resided since 1995. They were all so very kind. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W., Etobicoke, on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Noon, followed by a Service of Remembrance in the Chapel, at 1 pm. Don wishes, in lieu of flowers, to have any kind donations to be made to The Huntington Society of Canada, to hopefully help find a cure for this disease that robbed him of so much time with several family members over the years. Sympathy cards to the family may be sent c/o Turner & Porter: 4933 Dundas St. W, Etobicoke, Ontario, M9A 1B6. God Bless you Don, with Peace and Serenity. We love you and will miss you. - Rick, Donna, Serena and Tyler. Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca.

Gone but not forgotten.
