It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Marie Lucille ‘Lucy’ Adie, 93 of Sydney on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Arichat, she was the daughter of the late William and Beatrice (Babin) Meunier. Lucy was a dedicated, devoted, loving mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful homemaker and took great pride in her family and home. Lucy was a loyal viewer of Mass For Shunt Ins and never missed her Sunday devotion. She was a generous person who always gave to those in need. She is survived by her daughters, Marie (John) Cusack, Coxheath; Joyce (Francis) Doyle, Sydney River: sisters, Dorothy ‘Dot’ Melanson, Halifax; Doris Forgeron, West Arichat; brother, Rene Meunier, London, ON; grandchildren, Sean O’Leary, Todd O’Leary, Michael Cusack, Paula Tweedie, Terri Jimenez and great grandchildren Drew, Christopher, David, Erin, Berlyn and Micah.
She was predeceased by her husband, Chelsey Landry; brothers, Clifford and David Meunier. There will be no visitation for Lucy Adie. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 23 at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
