The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton on Thursday September 22, 2016 of Alvina Mary Pitre of Tignish aged 82 years. Beloved wife of the late Alyre Pitre. She was born in Tignish Shore on January 9, 1934, the daughter of the late Edmund and Mary Lorette (Pitre) Arsenault. Dear mother to Danny (Norma) Pitre, Calgary; Cathy (Wendell) Muttart, Tryon; Maureen (Craig) Rogers, Calgary; Donna (Billy) Keough, Tignish; Gary (Kim) Pitre, Northport; Terry Pitre, Myrick Shore; Wendy (Bill) Ostapovich, Courtney, B.C.; Wendell (late Armida) Pitre, Calgary and Barbara (Dave) Grass, Tobermory, On. and numerous nieces and nephews. Loving grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Stella (Alfred) Gallant, Emilda (Alcide) Richard, brothers and sisters-in-laws Alvin & Nan Pitre, Edmund & Brenda Pitre, Mary Ann & Richard Nelligan, Doris Bernard, Marie Doucette and Norma Arsenault. She was predeceased by husband Alyre, brothers Emile, Reggie and Adrian, daughter-in-law Armida, brothers-in-law Walter and Leo Pitre and Alban Gallant, sister-in-law Olive Gaudet. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, Palmer Road for visiting hours Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held Monday Sept. 26, 2016 at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Celebrant Rev.
