It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother, Shari MacKinnon on Monday, September 26,2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney with her loving children by her side. Born in Montreal, she was the daughter of the late Howard “Harry” and Frances Reibstein. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with them. She was a lover of dogs and horses. Shari was a devoted member of the Christian Fellowship Church. Shari is survived by her loving children, Francine (Gordon), Jamie (Melissa) and Jordan (Jeanette); her seven precious grandsons, Daniel, Byron, Dylan, Brandon, Dawson, Harrison and Evan as well as several close friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Allen Daniel “Danny” MacKinnon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, CBRH.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September 29,2016 at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney with Pastor Bruce DeYoung officiating. Reception to follow. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of ….
