Dennis Gordon Dickie, age 60, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK with his family by his side. Dennis was born on June 26, 1956 in Cabri, SK. He was the third child of Jack & Clara Dickie and was raised on the family farm near Pennant, SK. He married Judith Anne Morris of Weyburn, SK on July 19, 1982. In 1982, he moved his family to the farm to continue the family farm operation. Dennis also spent 35 years as a welder in the local oil and gas industry where he made many lasting friendships both near and far. Those who knew Dennis will remember his welcoming nature and hard work ethic. He liked to visit with his friends and often added some good humor to the conversations. He always had to be busy, and leaves a lasting memory for his ability to repair anything that he could get his hands on. Dennis is survived by his sons, Brett (Christine) Dickie and Kelly (Kellie) Dickie; his partner, Linda Olson; his mother, Clara Dickie; and by his sister, Orla (Jim) Noon. He was predeceased by his wife, Judith Anne Dickie, in 2012; his father, John (Jack) Charles Dickie, in 2013; and by his brother, James Colin Dickie, in 2008. The come-and-go reception was held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 1:00-2:30 pm from the Pennant Community Hall, Pennant, SK. A private family Graveside Service was held at 2:30 pm from the Pennant Cemetery, Pennant, SK with Rev. Linda Hall officiating. In Dennis’ Memory, donations to the STARS Air Ambulance Service would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements are in care of Swift Current Funeral Home.
