DUNFORD, Evon Blanche
We are saddened to announce the passing of Evon Blanche Dunford, in her 83rd year, surrounded by her family at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie Ontario on October 9, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Evon was born on June 22, 1934 in Creston South / Marystown Newfoundland. Wife of the late Richard Dunford, she is predeceased by her parents Archibald and Sophie Crocker, sister Millie Peach, and brother Frazer Crocker.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons, Jerry (Carroll), Randy (Connie), Tom, and daughters Debbie Hunter (Greg), and Michelle Muise (Ricky). Proud “http://www.inmemoriam.ca/media/images/icons/icon_calendar.gifnana” to ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Fondly remembered by sisters Etta Foote, Glenda Mayo (Robert), Lilian Crocker-Day (Gerald), Beverly Crocker Bell (Ralph), Barbara Brake (Norbert), Melvina Banadyga (Ken), Adelaide Clarke (Herbert), Elsie Crocker, and brothers Wesley Crocker (Rowena), Freeman Crocker (Shirley), George Crocker (Nancy), and Jason Crocker (Winnie).
Many thanks to Dr. Robert Bickle, Dr. Sarah Rask, Nicole McDonald, Debbie Elliott and Barrie CCAC, Bayshore Nurses and St. Elizabeth PSWs. Special thanks to Hospice Simcoe for going “above and beyond” in providing an unparalleled experience in compassionate, peaceful and thoughtful care.
Visitation will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 11 a.m. until the time we celebrate Evon’s life in the chapel at 1 p.m. Interment at Barrie Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Simcoe would be greatly appreciated by the family. Condolences and photo memories of Evon may be shared at www.steckleygooderham.com
