It is with heavy hearts that we the family of Frances regret to announce her passing on Thursday October 13, 2016 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility. Frances was born and raised in Sydney. She was employed for many years at the Isle Royal Hotel. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish. Frances will be sadly missed by her brothers, Peter, Gordie, Charlie and Alan; sisters, Marie, Mary and Josephine, as well as many nieces and nephews. Frances was predeceased by her parents, George and May (Bond) Thompson; brothers, George, Charlie, Jimmy; sisters, Alice, Ida, Jenny, Helen and Gladys. Frances would like to send a special thank you to ‘My Girls’ at Harbourstone. Frances will be always remembered for her great sense of humour. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 12-2 p.m. at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney with a celebration of life to follow at 2 p.m. with Fr. Bill Burke officiating, Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harboustone Enhanced Care Facility.
