It is with saddened hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Esther Hiscock, age 60, on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret Polly (MacLeod) MacNeil from No. 2. Esther was employed at Caledonia Pizza, Glace Bay. She will be remembered as a very outgoing lady with a great sense of humour and a deep affection for all animals.
Esther is survived by her son, Jason, Glace Bay; two sisters, Linda, Shirley; five brothers, J.B., Tony, Allie, Billy, Wayne; nieces, nephews and her best friend, Sherri McIntyre. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Sheldon “Shelly” Hiscock in 2015 and one sister, Cathy.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held this Friday at 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m., all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Lay Minister Martha MacDonald officiating. As an expression of sympathy for Esther, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the S.P.C.A.
