Clifford John MacKinnon
Date de décès : 6 novembre 2016
With broken hearts we, the family of Clifford MacKinnon, announce his passing on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Sydney he is the son of Mary MacKinnon and the late John Joe MacGillivary. Clifford was a carpenter by trade and for the last number of years worked as the Maintenance Supervisor at St. Ann’s Gaelic College. Clifford was loved by all who knew him for his kind heart and wonderful sense of humour. He loved music, friends and especially his family. Clifford had many interests and enjoyed following NASCAR, especially Matt Kenseth. Clifford held a close affinity to everything celtic; he had a love of the Gaelic language, music and of the fiddle. This affinity may be responsible for Clifford’s dry wit and love of a good tale. Besides his mother, Mary, Clifford is also survived by his loving wife, Ann Marie (MacNeil); daughters, Jade (Dennis) Gillis, Karla (Kirk) Danyluk; brother, Roderick MacGillivary and sisters, Joanne MacGillivary and Juanita (Ralph MacLean) MacGillivary. He is also survived by nephews, Ian MacGillivray, Julien Rouleau, and Samuel Rouleau. He is also survived by his cousins, Wayne MacDonald and Michael MacDonald, who were as close as siblings.
Besides his father, Clifford is predeceased by his close cousins, Frances (MacDonald) Lund and Mary Ida (MacDonald) Brooks. Clifford is also predeceased by his furry best friend, Lauchie. Cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 12th at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Parish, East Bay with Father Albert Maroun officiating with reception to follow.
Donations in Clifford’s memory can be made to the S.P.C.A., Sydney division or the St. Ann’s Gaelic College Bursary Fund.
