Shirley Ann MacDougall
With sadness, Marilyn Richardson and Andrea (Michael) Hunter announce the passing of their mother, Shirley MacDougall, 80, on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, Shirley was the daughter of the late Walter and Annie (Orychock) Hewak. Shirley leaves behind her family and many relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Shirley Ann MacDougall will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 9-10 a.m. with service to follow at 10 a.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Fr. Roman Dusanowskyj officiating. Following the service, light refreshments will be served in the reception area. Interment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Shirley may be made to ALS Society or charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
