Noel Martin, age 67, years of We’koqma’q First Nation, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016, in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Born in Baddeck, Victory Co., on March 3, 1949 he was a son of the late Charles Francis and Mary Anne (Bernard) Martin. Noel never complained, he always had a smile, and rooted for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He enjoyed jamming with his friends; he also was a volunteer in the community and always enjoyed raising money for Christmas Daddies. He leaves to mourn his sister, Isabel (Ricky Gould); godchildren, Jessica Bright and Christopher ‘Betcha’ Googoo; several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and chosen son, Nicholas Martin. Noel was predeceased by his sister, Sarah Bright; brothers, Frank, Larry Joseph and Stephen ‘Ekkian’. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Thursday in the Multi Purpose Building, 160 Reservation Rd, We’koqma’q First Nation. Funeral mass will be 1 p.m. Saturday from Blessed Kateri Parish Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, We’koqma’q with Father Paul Abbass officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
