The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, November 18th, 2016 of Doreen Mary Poirier (nee Arsenault) of St. Nicholas, P.E.I., aged 73 years. Doreen was born in Summerside to her mother Hilda (nee Gaudet) and her late father Arthur Arsenault. Also survived by her stepfather Tanton Landry. Beloved wife of 53 years to Robert Poirier and loving mother to Darlene (Greg) Masters of Urbanville, Colleen Poirier of Summerside and Angela Poirier of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her 6 grandchildren Zachary (Tracy), Rebecca (Cody), Joshua, Tyler, Coady and Jonathan, her 2 great-grandchildren McKinley Jeffery and Amelia Masters along with many nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister and brothers Aubrey (Auldine) Arsenault, Dennis (Jeanette) Arsenault, Blair Arsenault, Ann (Jim) Sullivan and Kevin Arsenault. Doreen was predeceased by her father Arthur Arsenault. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Wednesday, November 23rd where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Miscouche. Memorial donations in Doreen’s memory to the Oncology Unit or Palliative Care Unit of the Prince County Hospital or the P.E.I. Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
