Croft, Philip C. - Philip Charles Croft, 74, of Rothesay, NB passed away peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice on Friday November 18th, 2016 with his family by his side. Born in Charleston, Queens Co., NS, he was the son of the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Rafuse) Croft. Philip was a kind man with a heart of gold. He was a loving and loyal husband and a proud and encouraging father and grandfather. He was a people person, loved meeting new people and listening to their stories. Philip served with the Liverpool Town Police Force, retiring after thirteen years of service in 1979. Philip and his wife Rosalie owned and operated Croft’s Building Supplies Ltd for 14 years. Later, moving to the Annapolis Valley, Philip pursued his true passion for farming with a small farm in Canard where he and Rosalie had a prosperous fruit orchard and grew a variety of vegetables for the local farm markets. He could often be found tinkering with and polishing his John Deere tractors. With the arrival of grandchildren, Philip and Rosalie moved to New Brunswick in 2009 to be near their growing family. Philip was a very proud “Grampa” to his four beautiful granddaughters. Philip is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Rosalie (White); daughter Pamela (Derek) Jones and granddaughters Emma and Abigail, Quispamsis, NB; daughter Heather (Michel) Gagnon and granddaughters Julia-Rose and Isabella, Dieppe, NB; daughter Catherine (Renato) Luis, Dartmouth, NS; his loyal German Shepherd, Justice; sister Yvonne Conrad, Truro, NS; brother John Franklin Croft (Jane Roy), Mill Village, Queens Co. and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Philip was predeceased by his brother Murray, his sister Catherine, niece Janice and son-in-law John Harvey. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119). A private family committal service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Bobby’s Hospice staff and volunteers for their kindness and compassion at this difficult time.
