Cecil Mason Sr Carter

It is with sadness that we must announce the passing of Cecil Mason Carter Sr., age 75, of Amherst, NS. Cecil passed away peacefully at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 with his loving wife and family by his side.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Laurie and Edna (Amon) Carter.
Cecil worked as a Machinist for CNR for over 20 years. He and his wife Debbie then operated Debbie's Golf Cars Inc. for 17 years. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of AA, having earned his 25 year medallion. He was very dedicated to the AA fellowship, and offered support to many people in their 12 step program.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, the former Debbie Bacon, Amherst, children Deborah (Brian) Devlin, Edmonton, AB, Michelle (Peter) Small, Edmonton, AB, Cecil Mason Carter Jr., Sackville, NB; step daughters Christa Doncaster, Amherst, NS, Amy McGraw, Parrsboro, NS; grandchildren Jennifer, Amanda, Peter Jr., Kirkland, Brooklynn and Cooper; siblings Bobby (Judy) Carter, Jackson's Point, NS, Donna (Jack) Sweeney, Amherst, NS, Gary (Sylvia) Carter, Amherst, Linda (Eddie) St. Peter, Amherst, NS; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by siblings Doug (Rita), Geneva, Beverly, and infant George.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS, (902-667-8777). Cremation has taken place. Interment has taken place.
Donations in memory of Cecil may be made to the Clara Bacon Bursary Fund to support lifelong learning in health care.
