Passed away gracefully on November 24, 2016, at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's after a short illness, in her 94th year. Predeceased by her parents James Robert Steele and Amy Gertrude (née Stevenson); husband, David H.T.; eldest son, Hugh; brother, Owen; brother-in-law, Hugh Atkinson, Pasadena, sisters-in-law, Frances Steele, Doris Atkinson; leaving to mourn: sons; Geoffrey (Donna), and Douglas (Bernice); daughter, Robin; daughter-in-law, Jane (née Smallwood); grandchildren, Jonathan (Stacey), Stephanie (Daniel), Susan (Jonathan), David (Heather), Richard (Maggie), and Melissa; and great-grandson, Evan; brother, James Steele, sister-in-law Doreen Steele, nieces and nephews: Heather (Fred) Morrissey, David (Shirley) Steele, Doreen (Martin) Fischer; Judy (Wally) Gerus, Shirley (Doug) Greer, David (Patti), Peter Steele (Anne), and new and old friends near and far. Isabelle grew up in St. John's, graduated Acadia University in 1944, married her love, David and moved to Bay Roberts where she lived independently after David's passing until very recently. Her family was her pride and joy. She was a strong intelligent woman who will be missed greatly by family and friends. Resting at Moore's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts with visitations Saturday: 2-5 pm, 7-9 pm, Sunday: 2-5 pm, Monday 10-12 Noon. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 2 pm from the Central United Church, Bay Roberts with interment to follow at the Central United Cemetery, Bay Roberts. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinson Society NL, Heart and Stroke Foundation NL, or Central United Church, Bay Roberts.
