Jessie Mae age 95, passed away suddenly but peacefully at home on Thursday, December 1, 2016. Born in Orangedale East, Inverness Co., she was a daughter of the late Duncan John and Johnena “Tilla” (MacInnis) Murray.
Jessie was a retired school teacher, having taught for over 35 years. She was a member of Little Narrows Presbyterian Church as well as a choir member and member of the Ladies Aid. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Lewis, Marion Bridge; grandson, Dallas (Eirinn), Windsor Forks; sister-in-law, Ethel Murray, Orangedale East; nieces, Lynn, Lisa, Willena, Jessie, Carol, Joan, Joyce and Betty. She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Sr; son, Charlie Jr; brothers, John D. Murray, Lewis Murray, infant brother, Malcolm Murray; sister, Mary Catherine (Percy) Baker; nephew, George Baker. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday from Little Narrows Presbyterian Church with Rev. Andrew MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Little Narrows Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Little Narrows Presbyterian Church or to a charity of one’s choice.
