Passed peacefully away at the Caribou Memorial Veteran's Pavilion on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, surrounded by his family and friends, at age 71. Predeceased by his wife Florence; father Morley Gillingham; his mother Emma Stacey; step-father Neil Stacey; brothers-in-law: Gerald & Arch Sharpe, and mother & father-in-law Tom & Mary Ellen Sharpe. Left with fond & loving memories his daughters: Maxine (Dave), and Pam (Paul); son Morley (Corina); 2 precious grandchildren Ryan & Morgan; his loving companion Catherine Janes & her family; sister Elizabeth Groves (Richard); sisters-in-law: Diane Quilty (Fabian), Marie Jennings (Wayne), Helen Quilty (Mike), and Ellen Sharpe; brother-in-law Kevin Lawlor (Yvonne); also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the staff of the Caribou Pavilion for their special care and to Kay Janes for being a special part of his life. Visitation to be at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl, on Wednesday, December 7th, from 7:00pm - 9:00pm; on Thursday, December 8th, from 2:00pm - 5:00pm and 7:00pm - 9:00pm; and on Friday, December 9th, from 11:00am - 1:00pm. Funeral service to follow from Topsail United Church at 2:00pm. Cremation to follow with interment at later date.
