Sandra passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, with her family by her side in Toronto. Loving daughter of the late Sam and Ruth Schechter. She will be dearly missed by her sister, Judy Schachter; her uncle, Rube Cipin and many Cipin, Dan and Tugg relatives.
Born in Glace Bay on May 29, 1944, Sandra touched many children's lives during her 34 years of teaching with the Cape Breton District School Board. She was a gifted and patient educator who loved to regale her friends and family with funny and touching stories. Despite suffering from a number of ailments, Sandra maintained her sharp wit, generosity of spirit and a hearty laugh. Thank you to caregivers, Grace, June and Lenora and to the staff of D Wing, 2nd floor at Sunnybrook Hospital for their kindness and compassion over the last number of months. At Benjamin’s Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Ave., West (3 lights west of Dufferin) for service on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment Community Section of Pardes Chaim Cemetery.
