Passed away at the Lion's Manor Nursing Home, Placentia on December 10, 2016, surrounded by his loving family at the age 83 years formerly of Petite Forte & Jerseyside, Placentia. Predeceased by his parents Thomas & Veronica Traverse, his in-laws Cornelius & Florence Gambin, Jerome Collins, brothers: Joe & Peter Bavis, John, Michael (Mary), Joe (Mary), Tom (Mary) and Jack (Theresa), sisters: Mary White (Maurice), Bride Capshaw (Duane) and Bertha Stone (Bill). Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 58 years Matilda, sons: Jerry (Julie), Paul (Cavelle), Darrell (Darlene), daughters: Denise Mulrooney (Joe), Brenda Burke (Calvin) and Myra (Ambrose Bennett), 14 grandchildren: Crystal, Stacey, Donny, Ryan, Travis, Renee, Priscilla, Natasha, Jordan, Brenda, Erica, Nolan, Alyssa & Elizabeth, 7 great-grandchildren: Annabelle, Amber, Zachery, Alaina, Harper, Avery & Odin, brother: Ligouri (Mary), sisters: Lizzie Blanche (George), Ann Drollett, Judy Leonard (Derm), sisters-in-law: Mary Collins, Bernadette Bavis, Imelda Bailey (Bill), Winnie Barry (Ed), Veronica Grover (Ron), brothers-in-law: Dan Gambin, Leo Gambin (Julia), Cornelius Gambin (Madeline), John Gambin (Anita), special home care worker Gertie Winsor, and a large circle of extended family and friends. Resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia on Monday December 12 & Tuesday December 13, from 1:00 - 5:00 & 7:00 - 9:00. Funeral Mass to take place on Wednesday December 14 at Sacred Heart Church, Placentia at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow in Coombs Memorial Cemetery, Southeast.
