It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn Audrey Dicks, age 85, of Bridgewater, announces her passing on November 2, 2016 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Whitney Pier, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jessie (Lodge) Hussey.
Evelyn was a devoted wife for 66 years and a loving mother to her children and grandchildren. She was also a VON and caregiver to many. She never turned her back on anyone who needed her help and love. She was involved with Boy Scouts and Cubs when her children were young. She was an avid knitter which she passed along to her daughter and enjoyed puzzles, games and cards. She is survived by her husband, Bronson; son, Ralph(Gail), Lower Branch; daughter, Ellen(Bruce) McCarthy, Midville Branch; son, Joseph(Shirley), Lower Branch; grandchildren, Andrea(Victor) Whalen, Jeffrey Crouse, Daniel(Michelle)Wile, Adam(Danica)Dicks, Lucas Dicks, Chris(Ashley) Cruickshank and Andrew(Tara) Comeau; great-grandchildren, Drew, Madison, Emma and Wesley. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Chesley(Josephine) Dicks and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings and son-in-law, Andrew Crouse. There will be no visitation or service at her request.
Memorial donations in her name can be made to the charity of your choice. The family would like to extend a warm thank you to Dr. Weagle and all the doctors involved in Evelyn’s care as well as the third-floor staff at the South Shore Regional Hospital. Your support and care of Evelyn and her family will always be remembered.
