David Christie. March 12, 1932 - December 18, 2016. We are saddened but grateful to announce the peaceful passing of J.A. (David) Christie, at the age of 84, after a dignified journey with Alzheimer's. David was born in Windsor NS. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Florence (Unkovich) who took remarkable care of David through these difficult years with Alzheimer's, proud sons Ian (Marie) & David (Kristin), adoring grandchildren Colton, Logan, Gabrielle, Jean-Luc, sister Mary House (Max dec.) & family, sister-in-laws Frances (John dec.) (Ray), Sylvia, Frana (Peter) and all of their families. David joined the Royal Bank in 1949 and as a dedicated banker of 43 years, his career took him from Windsor, Digby, Truro to Summerside before transferring to BC. While David left NS in 1952, his heart remained in Windsor. Throughout his life, David maintained fond memories of his childhood and the friendships he made including Fred Mounce, Joey Dill and his many teammates from Windsor Academy rugby, the Windsor Maple Leafs and Windsor Royals. Upon returning to Windsor with sons Ian/David, they were overwhelmed by the love and friendship extended to their father and the many fond memories shared.
