Robert Francis (Bobby) Yates, 70 of Glace Bay, passed away Friday, December 23,2016 at the Glace Bay General Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay. He was the son of late George Edwin and Julia (MacDonald) Yates. Bobby was an Electronic Technician who worked at the Heavy Water Plant and Pulp Mill in Port Hawkesbury. For many years Bobby enjoyed playing Bass in a number of bands.
He is survived by sisters, Cecelia (Cecil) Barrett and Coleen (Joe) Morrison both of Glace Bay. Special nephews, Thomas Yates and Arnold Yates. Also several other nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by sister, Alice Seward and by brother, Thomas Yates.
There will no visitation. Cremation has taken place; a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2 p.m. the TJ Tracey Memorial Chapel, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, 902-849-4199.
