Passed peacefully away at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Palliative Care Unit on Thursday, December 22, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer, Anna Kathleen O'Mara, aged 77. Predeceased by her parents John and Kathleen Conran; her infant brother Kevin, and her parents-in-law Michael and Maud O'Mara. Leaving to mourn her devoted husband of 44 years Gerald (Gerry); her son John; her brothers John (Helen, deceased), Gerald (Shirley), Michael (Maxine); sisters Maureen (Michael, deceased) and Bernadine (David), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including Mary Seward, Marg Kennedy, and Marjorie Fudge. A special thank you to the staff of Alderwood Retirement Centre where Anna and Gerry lived for several months and to the staff of Cambridge Estates where they have lived more recently, especially to Dr. Andrea Singleton and the health care staff at Cambridge for their excellent attention to Anna's needs. Thank you, too, for the great care given to Anna by Dr. Erin Powell and the staff of the Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre and by the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Miller Centre. Cremation has taken place. The remains are resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road with visitation taking place on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Mass will take place at Mary Queen of Peace Church on Tuesday, January 3,2017 at 9:30 am, with inurnment to take place at a later date.
