It is with great sadness that the family of John J. Chafe announce his passing on December 25th, 2016 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander, NL. Leaving behind to mourn and celebrate his life are: his loving devoted wife of 63 years Daphne (Anstey) Chafe and children Catherine, Danny (Carol) and Randy Stephen; grandchildren Katelin, Charlie, Deidre and Zebulon; great-grandchildren Brendan and Michael; sisters Loretta Chafe (RSM) and Estelle ("Stella") Power; brother Ronald (Eleanor) and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Interment is to be arranged at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations (in lieu of flowers) may be made in John's memory to the Pediatric Oncology Unit of the Dr. Bliss Cancer Centre or a charity of your choice.
