It is with sorrow and sadness that Angus Carlyle (Gus) and Dorothy Eileen MacLeod (nee O’Hara) of Sherwood, PEI, announce the sudden passing of their cherished son Richard Angus MacLeod. Rick succumbed to complication from pancreatitis at Victoria Hospital in Halifax. Surrounded by family, he passed away peacefully. Born in Fredericton, N.B., Rick grew up in Chambly, Quebec and resided in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. Rick did his BSc at Sir George Williams University (Concordia) and his MSc at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Rick spent his professional life as a mathematics professor at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College, Memorial University, Corner Brook, Newfoundland. In l984 he married Linda Elizabeth Stirling, the love of his life. Together they brought their son Stirling Angus into the world. The joy Rick brought to our lives with his songs and guitar playing will leave a hole in our heart that will never be filled. Along with his wife, son, parents, and 72 first cousins, Rick also leaves brothers David MacLeod of Cornwall, PEI, (Sharon McKay) and Bryan MacLeod of Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, (Val Foulds). The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the ICU staff at the Victoria Hospital in Halifax. Their compassion and care was greatly appreciated.
