It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Rose Furlong, 86, on Sunday, January 1, 2017, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Theresa Cestnick. Surviving are her two daughters; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rose is the wife of the late Gerald Furlong. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford. A burial will be held at a later date in Duxbury, Mass., with her husband, Gerald. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the S.P.C.A.
