Lieu de naissance : Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada
Date de naissance : 4 novembre 1930

Lieu de décès : Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada
Date de décès : 29 décembre 2016

Joyce Wallace passed away at the age of 86 on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Cypress House, Swift Current, SK with her family by her side. Joyce was born November 4, 1930 in Swift Current to Lane & Phyllis Anderson. She married William (Bill) Wallace on October 27, 1951 and they lived on the family farm west of Rush Lake, SK until moving to Swift Current in September of 1977. While living on the farm, Joyce might be found helping in the fields during harvest or driving to town for repairs when needed. She supported Bill in any way she could with their farming operation and with his years as a 4H leader, which their children also participated in. Joyce supported her children’s involvement in figure skating, hockey, and ball by working in the kitchen at the rink, driving players to hockey games and tournaments, and of course, cheering. Joyce was very active with Rush Lake United Church. She was a member of the UCW (United Church Women), and she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Bill & Joyce both enjoyed many summers with the student ministers assigned to the church field, many of whom remained lifelong friends. They were also involved with the Swift Current Exhibition Board and for many years were hands on with Doc’s Town — even representing the Exhibition Board one year in the Canada Day parade as Parade Marshalls. Joyce was always a practical, blue jeans kind of girl — big groups were not her style. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed caring for them. Her meals and baking for family were basic, generous, and delicious. Her favorite place to be was basking in the sun — either on her deck, or in her last years, in her room at Cypress House. Her wish for many years was to join her husband in Heaven, and four years to the day she was blessed to pass peacefully there. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Elaine; and her children, Brendon, Kira, and Taylor; and Taylor’s children, Bonder, Tinka, and Jessub); her son, Darrell (Colleen); their son, Derek (Andrea) (their children, Paxton, Jett, and Cove): their son, Jay (Sara) (their children, Brielle and Mesa); her sisters-in-law, Florence Anderson, and Ellen (Ron) Smith; her brother-in-law, Rutherford Smith; and by her cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Joyce was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Bill; her parents, Lane & Phyllis Anderson; her brother, Ralph Anderson; and by Bill’s siblings, Mary, Annie, Margaret, James “Jim,” and Robert “Bus.” The Celebration of Life Service was held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 4:00 pm from East Side Church of God, Swift Current, SK, with Pastor Kevin Snyder officiating. Tributes were given by Elaine, Jacque Topuschak, and Sara Wallace (on behalf of Darrell, Derek, and Jay Wallace), and by a photo presentation. The Interment Service was held Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 10:00 am from Mount Pleasant Burial Park, Swift Current, SK. Funeral arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
