Passed peacefully away at St. Luke's Home on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, Muriel Smith aged 101 years. Predeceased by her husband Frank (1992); son Philip Selwyn; brothers Howard and Rex; and sister Vera. Leaving to mourn with loving memories her children: Robert (Vera-deceased), Joyce Bryant (Everett), Peggy Newhook (Garland) and Howard (Rosalind); daughter-in-law Maude; sister-in-law Marion LeDrew; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren; a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Luke's Homes for the care and compassion shown towards Muriel while she resided there for 14 years. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday, January 5 from 6-9 p.m. Visitation then at Church of the Good Shepherd, Norman's Cove on Friday, January 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, January 7 from 11-1 p.m. Funeral Service to be held from Church of the Good Shepherd on Saturday, January 7 at 2 p.m. with interment to follow in Anglican Cemetery, Norman's Cove.
