It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Cecilia Arcand on Jan 9 2017 at the age of 89 years. She passed away peacefully at the Herb Bassett home with her family by her side. Born September 29, 1927 in Carlton district to Margaret and John Kometscher she was one of nine children. It was at a country dance in the town of Carlton that she met Adrian Arcand. They had dated for 3 years and were married on June 14, 1945 at Titanic church. Following the marriage they acquired land from Adrian’s father, this is where they built their first home and began their family of 6. Cecilia and Adrian were married for 67 years. Cecilia worked at Whitter Motors, Johnny’s Igloo, Kresges and Coop Cafeteria. She was always a very hard and dedicated worker. She was a very dedicated mother to all her children and loved her family who meant everything to her. She would put everyone first before her own needs, doing anything for anyone. She enjoyed gardening and planting her flowers. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting and sewing. She sewed clothing for her children in the earlier years on the farm. She enjoyed camping in the earlier years and family picnics and reunions. There was always much food and fun to be had at the Arcand’s family home on any holidays or special occasions. She is survived by her 5 children Joyce (Rudy) Fiddler, Leslie Arcand, Linda (Gary) Garneau, Raymond (Gloria) Arcand, Leonard (Rose) Arcand. Grandchildren and great grandchildren.
