GOODWIN, Gladys Bernice- age 87 of Dayton, Yarmouth Co., N.S. passed away at the Villa St Joseph du Lac on January 17, 2017. Born in Argyle Head on November 2, 1929 she was the daughter to the late George and Alice Forbes. Gladys was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a member of the Argyle Baptist Church. Gladys enjoyed hummingbirds, had a love for music, went for many walks and absolutely loved to mow the lawn. She was a member of TOPS for nearly 30 years. She enjoyed travelling and always looked forward to her trips to Ottawa to visit with her youngest son. Those who knew her well will attest to her great sense of humour. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie (Brian) Grant and Sheryl (Wayne) Rogers; sons, Lane (Debbie) Goodwin, Ronnie (Kristi) Goodwin and Randy (Mark) Goodwin; sister-in-laws, Dorothy Hines and Sharon Dulong; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Ron Goodwin and great grandson Josh Wayne Rogers. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 7-9 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 2 P.M. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Robert Gates officiated. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
