It is with great sadness that the family of the late Arthur Robert Winsor announce his passing at the James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the age of 69 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his loving wife Dale (nee Ivany); sons: Tony (Susan) of Gander, Troy of Veteran, AB; his grandsons who are his pride and joy: Cole, Riley, Tanner; sisters: Mary Rogers of Badgers Quay, Millie Goodyear (Charles) of Lumsden; sisters-in-law: Marion Winsor of Nippard's Harbour, Joan Pearle (Sean Lahey) of Bell Island, Betty Janes of St. John's; brothers-in-law: James Fox (Cindy) of Bell Island, Bill Fox (Jacinta) of Cambridge, ON, Douglas Fox (Frances) of Pouch Cove; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Maggie and Emmanuel Winsor; mother and father-in-law Mae and James Fox; brother Gordon Winsor; sister Edith (Thomas, deceased) Ricketts; brothers-in-law: Edward Rogers and Stephen Pearle. Art was born in Wesleyville on November 19, 1947 to the late Maggie and Emmanuel Winsor. In 1965, he went to Glovertown and there he taught for one year. In 1966 he went to St. John's and worked at the boys home. The following year, he married Dale Ivany, and they resided in St. John's until 1971. In September of that year, Art went to trade school and studied Power Engineering. He worked at Beothic Fisheries, Valleyfield from 1972-1974 and then moved to Gander and worked at Gander International Airport until his retirement in 2004. Art enjoyed spending time at the stadium watching his three grandsons practice and play hockey, reading, berry picking (especially bakeapples), walking and biking. The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to Majors Smith and Florence Rowsell, Dr. Carmel Casey, Dr. Nancy Culleton and the staff at the Gander Cancer Clinic. Family received friends at Stacey's Funeral Home, 60 Roe Avenue, Gander on Sunday, January 22, 2017 between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held at the Salvation Army Citadel, Gander on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 2 p.m. Officiated by Majors Smith and Florence Rowsell, with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
