Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the James Paton Memorial Health Care Centre on Friday January 20, 2017 Howard (Howie) Whitehorn at the age of 81 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his sons: Wayne (Janet), Gord; daughters: Lynn Walsh (Randy), Lorna Budden (Gary), Gigi Abbott (Shawn); grandchildren: Laurie (Joe), Robyn (Brady), Mark, Kyle, Jeremy, Quinn, Aidan; great grandchildren: Alyson, Ryan, brothers: Wayne (Joyce), Murrary (Sally), special niece Gloria Penney and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Verdun (nee. Parrott); parents Ernie & Grace Whitehorn; brother Ken; sister Audrey; and his mother and father-in-law Gordon & Emeline Parrott. In keeping with Howard’s wishes cremation has taken place. Family recieved friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, 60 Roe Avenue, Gander on Sunday January 22, 2017 between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. Funeral service was held at St. Martins Anglican Cathedral, Gander on Monday January 23, 2017 at 2 p.m., officiated by Reverend Brian Candow with interment to follow at the Commonwealth Cemetery, TCH. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Howard’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
