It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt, Florence Broderick on January 27, 2017, who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Born on October 26, 1949 she was the daughter of the late John (Hooker) and Pauline (Jewer) MacLeod.Florence is survived by her mother, Pauline; sons, Derek (Alisha), Shawn (Karen) and Dale MacIntyre; grandchildren, Cassie, Carter, Emily, Cheyenne, Dallas, Cierra, Jacob, Owen, Ashley and Christina; sisters, Debbie MacDonald, Barb O’Quinn, Brenda MacLeod, Cherie (Darryl Hill); brother, Bernie (Donna), Troy (Jennifer), Darrell (Lolaine), John (Susan Hardy); sister-in-law, Pat Broderick and brother-in-law, Stan Broderick; many nieces,grandnieces, nephews,grandnephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Besides her father she was also predeceased by her loving husband, Billy, whom she missed more and more each passing day; brother, Howard; nephew, Kyle McMullin; brothers-in-law, Collie MacDonald and Chuck Broderick. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Florence’s life will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 2 p.m. in Warden United Church, 32 Fourth St., Glace Bay with Lay Minister Martha MacDonald officiating followed by a luncheon.
