It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Arthur Joseph Cheverie, age 81, from 312 Esplande, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on Monday, January 30, 2017. Born in Pictou, he was the son of the late Ronald and Agnes (MacDonald) Cheverie. Arthur was very proud of his 35 years as a friend of Bill W. He is survived by his sister, Mary Theresa and her family, Mass., as well as his several nieces and nephews. Arthur was predeceased by his sister, Clara and brother, Ronald Jr. We would like to thank the staff of the YMCA for your help during his time of need. Thank you the Sydney Home Care, VON and Meals on Wheels, for all your care and help. A special thank you to Ernie and Karen Bernasky for their friendship and care. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Reception and visitation to follow the service in the funeral home.
