Dorothy June Boden passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 89 years. She was born in Moose Jaw, SK on June 30, 1927. June moved to Mayview, SK and attended Tanglewood School. On June 15, 1945 she married the love of her life John Boden and together they raised four children. June worked at the Victoria Hospital, Rexall Drugs and White Cross Drugs where she enjoyed working with the public and made many friends. They raised their family on a farm in Spruce Home. June enjoyed her flower garden, painting, cross country skiing, dancing and travelling. She enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Arizona, California, Florida and B.C. to visit family. She also enjoyed a variety of crafts including crocheting and making moccasins. John and June were beautiful dancers, it was always fun to watch them. Family was very important to her and the Boden family has remained very close through the years, due in large part to her accepting the responsibility for being the hub around which most family gatherings were planned. There were many Sunday dinners and also on every special occasion. She always truly enjoyed having family gatherings. She hosted birthday parties and many afternoon tea parties for her mom and her mom’s friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband John Boden; her sister Shirley Oreel and her cousin Doug Moore. June will be lovingly remembered by her children and their families: Darrel (Alice) & their children Mark (Rene) & their children Olivia, Reid, Carter; Denise (Mathew) Koeberlin & their children Tessa, Trey & Taryn; Wesley (Leah) & their children William & Julia; David (Norma) & their children Karen (Jeff Seney) & their children Savannah, Faith, Ian & Isla; Cathy (Chris McKay) & their children Ben, Cailyn & Alina; Jan (Corey Dolan) & their children Julian & Lilliana; Sharon (Dwayne) Couldwell & their children Kimberly (Reed) Willison & their children Linden & Luke; Kelly (Andrew) MacKenzie & their children Aiden & Owen and Wayne (Pauline) & their children Beauvon (Chris) Thorpe & their children Kaiden, Tayler & Chace; Kandace (Curtis) Kutzan and Daidre (Jared) Braakman & their son Luca. The family would like to thank the Staff at Mont. St. Joseph and Dr. D.G. Surkan for the outstanding care they gave our mother, as we truly appreciate it. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Reverend Nora Vedress officiating. Reception will take place right after the service. Interment will be held at a later date.
