It is with great sadness that the family of Joyce McCarthy announce her peaceful passing at the Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, January 29, 2017 in her 73rd year. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories, her loving children: Eddie (Sandy) of Ontario, Garry (Sandra) of Meadows, Wanda (Ross) of Ontario; the love of her life, her grandchildren: Amanda (Geoff), Nadine (Josh), James, Ryan, Liam, Nathan and Katie; her great-grandchildren: Landen, Ellessias and Parker (Karlie); brothers: Keith (Lynne) and Calvin (Joan); sisters: Marion Beasley (Lorne), Marg Cleal (Ed), Madge Stead, Yvonne Newport (Gary) and Gail Rogers (Calvin); sisters-in-law: Francis and Mary; brother-in-law: Moe (Bun); sister-in-law: Brenda (Doug); her special friend who was like a sister, Theresa Slaney; her special girl, Emily Bolt; her friends of the BIS Club in St. John's, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ed (July 2016), her parents Samuel and Vera, her brothers Harvey and Tom, and her brother-in-law, Paul McCarthy. In keeping with Joyce's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held with interment taking place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of one?s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Country Haven Funeral Home, Corner Brook.
