It is with sad and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother Shirley Murphy on February 17, 2017 in Toronto after a long battle with a rare sickness. Shirley was the loving wife of the late Robert Murphy. She was adored by her children Elizabeth, Cynthia, Joanne, John. She was a doting grandmother to Michael (Katie), Arthur (Caitlyn), Joshua and a great-grandmother to Michael Jr., Myriah, Makayla; sisters: Olive (predeceased), Jenny, Carol Ann; brother Bob (Barbara); Sheila Waters (God-daughter). Shirley will be sadly missed by a large circle of family and friends to mention a few, Linda Mills (Aubrey), Bob & Olga Hartery, Anita Learning, Kim Campbell. Shirley was a proud Newfoundlander and put a smile on the face of everyone that knew her as her bigger than life heart was full of love and kindness. Every time we smell homemade bread and hear an accordion play it will remind us of Shirley.
