Duncan “Allan” BEATON
March 31, 1923 – February 14, 2017
Uncle Allan was born on March 31, 1923 in Briarlea and passed away on Feb 14 2017 in Briarlea. At age 13 he took over the family farm and farmed for the next 80 years until his sudden passing after he completed his chores on February 14, 2017. His only absence from farming was the time he served in the Air Force from 1942 until 1945. Uncle Allan maintained a close and loving relationship with all his nieces and nephews and their families. Uncle Allan is survived by his sisters Janet Barnes and Sylvia McLeod; his 20 nieces and nephews and their families; as well as his dog, Spike; and his neighbours and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ada and Duncan; his sister Betty McDougall; and brothers-in-law Lorne McDougall, Ray Barnes and Colin McLeod. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK with Pastor Dennis Serfas officiating.
