With heavy hearts, we regret to announce the passing of Richard Mac Isaac ‘Goolie’ of Upper Grand Mira North Road on February 18th, 2017. Born February 5th, 1943, he was the son of the late Michael O’Handley and Helen MacIsaac O’Handley of Reserve Mines. He was known for his great sense of humor and love for the outdoors in the country where he spent his days with his loving brother, Pat O’Handley. Richard worked as a volunteer for a local saw mill for years before retiring. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, especially those from the New Waterford area including his many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is survived by his brother, Pat O’Handley; sister-in-law, Carmella MacIsaac (Ricky); Denise and Mike MacInnis from Mira, Steve and Nicole MacIsaac, Michael and Charmaine Hogan, Andrew and Anita Digero, Mary Macdonald (Minnie) and Dorothy Blondeau, Hamilton, Ont. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph MacIsaac; sisters, MaryAnn MacIsaac and Mary O’Handley.
There will be a private ceremony at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. In lieu of flowers can be made to charity of choice. Online condolences may be sent to our webpage at www.chantfuneralhome.ca.
