SMITH, Donald Ralph “Don” – age 70, Plymouth, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born April 26, 1946 in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late Donald and Marion (Chambers) Smith. Don was an electrician and was currently working at the Yarmouth International Airport, having also worked aboard the MV Bluenose. Don loved anything to do with the outdoors – hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and especially spending time at the camp. He was a very proud father and grandfather. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Phil) Cottreau, Plymouth; Denise (Lyndon) Comeau, St. Alphonse; Yvonne (Lyndon) Doucette, Wedgeport, as well as by granddaughters Grace and Mollie, grand-dog Dakota, grandson Sam and granddaughters Monique and Deanne. Also surviving are sisters, Donna MacPherson, Yarmouth; Shirley (Billy) Frittenburg, Lunenburg; Beverly (Emile) LeBlanc, Eel Brook; brothers, Gary (Barb) Smith, Norwood; David (Bonnie) Smith, Brooklyn, Yarmouth Co., as well as by many nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, Don was predeceased by his wife, Yvette M. (LeBlanc) Smith. Visitation took place from 7-9 p.m. Friday at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 4 at 11 a.m. at St. Anne’s Church, Ste-Anne-du-Ruisseau, Father Albeni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
